You look important.

I was HP-48 committed.

My calculus professor sent me to the dean of Mathematics office.
I sat in the office with the dean asking him for permission to use my HP-48 on the exams.
With no hesitation, the dean said, “No”, that I would just get a CS student to program the calculator.
I leaned forward and placed my HP on his desk, and I said, “I am that CS student, and I have programed that calculator. I dare you to use it.”
At this point in the class, I am half way through the class pulling a middle C. I was spending too much time trying to program a solution.
I was given a tool, and I just wanted to use it. If the Dean again refuses, I will fail the class. The dean smiled, and gave me permission.
Upon returning to my class, the professor said that anyone that makes a 100 on the final will get an A for the course.
I got my A in that class. Final was 100.

I have always been that way with building things.
At Lotus, I went to my manager and asked permission to build a software problem reporting system in Lotus Notes.
He asked his managers to divert some of my time to building a better system in Notes.
The owner of the project, Siad, said he did not think that it could be done, but he said to let me try. I was given a tool, and I just wanted to use it.
I wrote the base system on Lotus Notes 1, the Software problem reporting system that was named after the ghost QaSpr was born in Lotus Notes 2.
An automated testing facility named after the Psychiatrist Sigmund was born in Lotus Notes 4.
QaSpr and Sigmund let beta testers open and close bugs on the software being tested.
Sigmund passed a Turing test. Beta testers would call the main switchboard asking to speak with Sigmund.
The operator would put them through to Quality Assurance.

I AM, KnoWell committed.
